Nina Georgievna Stenina graduated from the Mathematical Class and
Department of Physics of Novosibirsk State University; PhD in Physics
and Mathematics, Doctor of Science in Geology and Mineralogy (Mining
Institute, St Petersburg, 1989). Between 1975 and 1990 she worked on
multiple occasions at the International Center for Electron Microscopy
of the Institute of Solid State and Electron Microscopy AcSc of DDR (now
- the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, Halle/Saale,
Germany), in order to study a real structure of natural minerals. In
1969–2006, the author worked at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics
SB RAS. Now she is a professor at the Novosibirsk State University of
Architecture and Civil Engineering.
